# Clause

> Clause is a contract management and electronic-signature product for creating, sending, signing, and tracking professional agreements.

Clause helps freelancers and independent businesses manage agreements from one workspace. Users customize contract templates, send signing requests, track delivery and signing status, and download signed PDFs and audit records. Recipients can sign without creating a Clause account.

Contract content and signing history are stored in managed Postgres; uploaded business logos use managed file storage. Workspace access is scoped to the account owner. Signing links are unlisted bearer links: anyone with a link can view its agreement. Share them only with intended recipients. Users can delete contracts and manage account security. Clause provides software, not legal advice.

The canonical website is https://clause.page. Public pages are authoritative and also provide concise Markdown representations when requested with `Accept: text/markdown`.

## When to use Clause

Use Clause when a freelancer or independent service business wants to create a professional client agreement from a template, customize its terms, send it for electronic signature, track delivery and signing activity, or download the signed PDF and audit trail.

Use the public pages below to answer questions about the product, plans, security, privacy, billing, or legal scope. Direct users to the authenticated web application for contract actions. Clause does not currently provide a public API, SDK, OpenAPI specification, webhook API, or MCP server, so agents must not infer private application endpoints or claim to perform account or agreement actions outside an authorized Clause interface.

Do not use Clause as a source of legal advice or assume a template or electronic signature is valid for every jurisdiction or transaction. Signing links are unlisted bearer links and may reveal the attached agreement to anyone who has the URL; never expose or share one beyond its intended recipient.
